WHAT HAPPENS AT A 3DS PROGRAM?
- Orientation: Participating students meet on Tuesday, November 13 at 6:30pm in McCoy 240, get introduced to key entrepreneurship principles, and learn best practices for maximizing the 3 Day Startup program experience.
- Day 1: Participants arrive – with or without startup ideas – and a 3DS facilitator leads the group through dedicated brainstorming, preliminary pitches/feedback, and team selection modules. Some teams work late into the night and others prefer to rest up in preparation for day 2.
- Day 2: Customer discovery (teams exit the building or hit the phones and talk to potential customers), structured mentorship, intermediate pitches and feedback sessions. Day 2 places heavy emphasis on business model generation.
- Day 3: Continued execution (including pitch workshops) leading into final pitches/demos to an esteemed panel of mentors and investors. Presentations are Sunday, 3pm in McCoy Hall 233. The programs concludes at 5:30pm.
3Day Startup Deep Dive
3-Day Startup - Deep Dive
Offered Every Spring Semester
April 12-14, 2019
Minifie Academic Atrium
Deep Dive offers an in-depth examination of five key questions related to building deeper entrepreneurial skills that are highly valued by employers. It follows the familiar pattern of the 3DS Foundations course in learning by doing, guided by professional entrepreneurs and faculty. Each student group will focus on a new or existing business idea and apply analytical techniques to visually examine the business opportunity from multiple dimensions. The program is intended for students who want to experience the excitement of assessing the potential of a new business idea and its market opportunity.
The program begins at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 12, with teaming and a dinner, continues all day Saturday (from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.) and concludes Sunday afternoon by 5:00 p.m. with a poster session and discussion with a panel of advisors. The program is open to all Texas State students, at no charge.
. Look for information sessions in early March to answer your questions about this rewarding program. The deadline to apply is Friday 5:00 p.m., March 29. You may apply either as a team or as an individual. This first-time program will be limited to 30 students.
